Recently rumors have emerged that Nvidia will soon introduce a new series of graphics cards – GeForce GTX 2080 and GeForce GTX 2070. The new series will be based on Ampere architecture.
Soon after, the tweaktown website claims that their source is this kind of development and confirmed. According to the source, the new series will be presented during this year’s GTC (GPU Technology Conference) conference.
Although it is believed that the new series will be labeled GTX 2080 and GTX 2070, the same source says that there is a possibility that in the end the name will be somewhat different – GTX 1180 and GTX 1170.
As long as the new series is ultimately called one, it is inevitable – the Ampere architecture will bring better operating frequencies and lower consumption compared to the current Pascal architecture.
New graphics cards from the GeForce GTX 2080 (1180) and GeForce 2070 (1170) series are expected to be available at the latest at the end of April or at the beginning of May 2018 at the latest.
